First Mara Brock Akil leaves the show, and now this.
Gabrielle Union filed a breach of contract lawsuit against BET over the number of episodes and salary for her hit show Being Mary Jane.
Union, who is repped by Martin Singer, says she went into doing Being Mary Jane due to the fact that the network said she’d never have to do more than 13 episodes a season. But now, BET has a total of 20 episodes and have combined seasons 4 and 5.
In addition to the 20 episodes, BET promised a raise for the 5th season, which isn’t going to happen either. Under her contract, Union is set to receive $150,000 per episode for season four and $165,000 per episode for season five.
